Ungdomskulen (Frode Flatland, Kristian Stockhaus, Øyvind Solheim) is
a relatively new addition to the great conglomerate of Norwegian rock
bands. Their sound is founded on bass, drum and guitar. Taken
individually, the drum beats seem inspired by the city, the bass is
syncopated and sonic, and the jazz-like guitar sounds as if its
possessed by rock demons. And finally, theres a light but
authoritative male vocal on top. Bergen is this young trios hangout.
These guys love life.
In 2000 these three young gentlemen took the first steps into what
we now know as ungdomskulen. Cause in addition to their affection for
life, they all love music. TheyŽve been playing together in various
constelations since they all went to school together in 99. They
decided to rock together on a regular and serious basis, and so they
did. At first they called themselves standing ovation and then they
decided to change their name to goddamnit, and so they settled with
ungdomskulen. Alot of confusion did occur, but after a while things
settled and today these guys are living the life and loving the lot.Now
